Subsidies will be issued to farmers in Azerbaijan starting from January 15, 2020, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilham Guliyev said at a press conference, Trend reports.
The deputy minister noted that any shortcomings that may arise during the trial period of the current year will be eliminated.
According to him, it is not intended to provide subsidies for the sale of fertilizers at preferential prices starting from January 1, 2020.
“It is taken into account in the subsidies themselves. The purchase of fertilizers will be carried out in electronic form. The suppliers are doing serious work, and they are connecting to electronic subsidy information system," he said.
Guliyev added that 320,000 farmers have so far registered in the Electronic Agricultural Information System.
"The work is ongoing, and I think that there will not be any major changes in this figure," he noted.
In conclusion, the deputy minister said that volunteers were involved in the production of cards for farmers.
