Plan for halal food products manufacturing approved in Kazakhstan

Roadmaps for development of organic agriculture and manufacturing of halal food products prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan have been approved in Kazakhstan, Trend reports with reference to the press office of the ministry.

The main accents of the roadmaps are aimed not only at the development of internal market of halal products, but also at increase of export potential of agricultural complex of the country.

The roadmaps oversee the implementation of a complex of measures aimed at studying the demand and access rules to the market of prioritized export countries, building of institutional structure in area of halal industry, recognition of national certification system on international market, scientific and informational support and so on. The roadmaps also include specific deadlines and list all government agencies and organizations involved.

The main manufacturers of organic goods are farms in Akmola, Karaganda, Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions, which are aiming at export of seeds. The most interested in Kazakh export countries are the European Union states, China, US and Muslim countries.

Kazkahstan’s halal goods are most popular in the countries of Persian Gulf, Turkey, Iran, Central Asia and Russia. Thus, 30 percent of total agriculture export of Kazakhstan accounted for halal products export during January-June 2019.

According to the press office, the implementation of the roadmap activities will allow local manufacturers to orient their manufacturing on markets with highest demand, to increase the income and to increase the labor efficiency.
