With the support and preferences of regional authorities (for example, benefits provided to participants in the FEZ), the Russian corporation BOOS LIGHTING GROUP plans to build a factory for the production of LED lamps in Uzbekistan, a company representative told Trend in an interview.
“We are going to build our plant, as Uzbekistan is a dynamically developing Central Asian country with a population of more than 33 million people. In the Soviet period, the country, in addition to developed agriculture, was considered a regional center of competence in various mining, processing and manufacturing industries. Currently, the leadership of Uzbekistan sets the task to restore this status to the country in the region at a new level and to significantly increase the contribution of industry to the country's GDP,” the representative said.
A source from the company noted that, taking into account the implementation of various infrastructure projects and dynamically growing private construction, Uzbekistan needs modern, energy-efficient lighting solutions (both street, garden and architectural, artistic, and domestic in the field of housing and communal services).
“BL Group has such solutions and we are ready to share our competencies, technologies, and our own software (the program for calculating outdoor and street lighting Light-in-Night Road),” the company said.
In addition, the representative added, taking into account long-standing trade relations with bordering countries (Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan), the full-cycle plant planned for construction in Uzbekistan (including a casting complex, a paint line and a final assembly line for lighting equipment) will not only become a hub to provide the Uzbek market with high-tech lighting equipment, but also will be able to supply finished equipment or kits for assembling lamps to enterprises in neighboring countries, if necessary.
