Russian corporation BOOS LIGHTING GROUP plans to make investments of up to $100 million in Uzbekistan, a representative of the corporation told Trend in an interview.
“Investments will be primarily directed, in the form of new developments (intellectual rights, patents, licenses, etc.), innovative technologies, software, production and laboratory equipment, as well as components used to implement the plant construction project and create a design Bureau,” the representative added.
The representative noted that consultations are currently underway with the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments, the Center for the Development of Investment Projects, the Uzeltechsanoat Association and the administration of Jizzakh region to select a local partner for the implementation of this investment project.
“After choosing a partner, the Corporation will discuss with it the share of its participation in the project, but, in accordance with the BOOS LIGHTING GROUP strategy and experience in implementing similar projects in other countries, the Corporation’s participation will be at least 51 percent,” the company noted.
The corporation said that they plan to participate in all major infrastructure and private projects in Uzbekistan.
“First of all, these are projects related to the modernization of the city and transport infrastructure of the country - here we have already achieved a great field for the activities of the Corporation and the first successes. Active housing construction also requires modern energy-efficient lighting solutions and the Corporation will manufacture and supply equipment to its Uzbek customers in this area,” the representative emphasized.
According to a representative of the corporation, in order to increase the tourist attractiveness of Uzbekistan, the Corporation plans to actively participate in projects of landscape gardening and architectural and artistic lighting of iconic objects in the country.
The representative added that BL Group is discussing with the administrations of a number of regions the issue of its participation in lighting projects for Alisher Navoi Avenue in Tashkent, University Boulevard (formerly Abramovsky Boulevard) in Samarkand, Youth Park in Jizzakh and a number of other facilities.
