The volume of textile exports by the end of 2019 will reach $2 billion, said Uztextile Chairman Ilkhom Khaidarov at a press conference at the Information and Mass Communications Agency dedicated to the Global Textile Days Tashkent 2019 forum, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.

“Our industry is fully focused on external supplies. By the end of 2018, exports exceeded $1.6 billion. We are confident that in 2019, this figure will reach $2 billion,” Khaidarov said.

He noted that the progress of Uzbekistan, which has turned from an exporter of raw materials into a real supplier of high value-added products, did not go unnoticed; and this is the reason why International Cotton Advisory Committee agreed to hold its eighth meeting in Tashkent.

According to Khaidarov, scientific experts and specialists from leading cotton producing countries of the world such as the USA, Australia, China, India, Pakistan and others will take part in the meeting and exchange their experience in this area.

“We hope that thanks to their data we’ll be able to implement new promising developments,” said the chairman of Uztextile.

Global Textile Days Tashkent 2019 are held in the capital of Uzbekistan from September 9 to 13. The whole week will be devoted to the development of the textile industry in Uzbekistan and other countries.
