Iran, Turkey mull doubling electricity swap

Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian and Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez stressed the importance of doubling electricity swap between the two countries during their meeting in Ankara, Trend reports referring to the Energy Ministry of Iran.

Iran's Energy Ministry reported that the sides mulled increasing the electricity swap from 640 megawatts to 1,280 megawatts.

During the meeting of the two ministers, the sides also underlined the importance of starting talks on resuming electricity trade between the two countries.

Furthermore, the sides discussed establishing an electricity market committee under the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

Iran's Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian visited Turkey together with the country's president and other government officials.
