Uzbekistan boosts gold exports

Uzbekistan in January-August 2019 increased the export of gold 2.5 times compared to the same period in 2018, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
In January-August 2019, Uzbekistan exported gold worth $3.94 billion.
Moreover, the share of gold in the export structure amounted to 31.6 percent.
Also, Uzbekistan increased electricity generation by 1.5 percent in the reporting period compared to the same period in 2018.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the country's enterprises generated more than 40.44 billion kWh of electricity.
In January-August, Uzbekistan produced 17.85 million Gcal of heat, which is 3.3 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.
Note that Uzbekistan has increased gold exports in recent years. Gold exports in 2015 exceeded $823.9 million, in 2016 - $738.2 million, in 2017 - $1.6 billion and in 2018 - $2.91 billion.
