Referring to recent Iran-Syria Joint Economic Committee meeting in Tehran, Syrian ambassador to Tehran Adnan Mahmoud said that there is no doubt that this meeting is a unique and reflective of the two countries' willingness to engage in strategic and economic cooperation in the face of economic war and sanctions, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He added that Iran's private sector is expected to be play a constructive role in rebuilding Syria's infrastructure.

Syrian ambassador to Tehran emphasized the priority of the private sector and said that “We hope that this meeting will be a step for the Iranian private sector to set up joint ventures in oil and mineral wealth."

"We are trying to establish joint ventures in all sectors to take advantage of the two countries' capabilities," said Mahmoud.

"Enemies are trying to wage war in all fields," he said, stressing that the economic war against Syria is continuing.

“Therefore, investing in the private sector in different fields will be very effective for the development of trade between the two countries,” he noted.
