100 filling stations to be constructed in Kazakhstan

Some 100 natural gas vehicles (NGV) filling stations will be constructed in Kazakhstan's regions supplied with gas, Trend reports with reference to the press office of QazAvtoJol company.

This became known during the working trip of employees of QazAvtoJol company to Turkestan, Shymkent regions and Taraz city of the country.

The visit agenda included relevant issues of development and alignment of facilities of roadside service to the requirements of National Standards, allocation of land for roadside facilities, construction of necessary infrastructure including the construction of gas filling stations in cooperation with KazTransGaz.

Currently, out of 158 facilities of roadside service in Turkestan region, only 32 percent, as well as only 41 percent out of 61 existing facilities in Zhambyl region, meet the National Standards.

Furthermore, 100 NGV filling stations will be constructed in country’s regions supplied with gas. At the same time campsites, motels, public showers, commercial points, parking lots for cargo and passenger cars will also be constructed in the country.

The work is being included in the memorandum previously signed by QazAvtoJol and KazTransGaz on development of supply-side infrastructure for using natural gas as a motor fuel in Kazakhstan.
