Chinese company intends to launch charter flights to Uzbek cities

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov received Head of the China's Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co. Ltd Liu Yi on September 28, 2019, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed launching of the first direct flight of Hangzhou-Xian-Tashkent, as well as issues of further cooperation in the field of airport development, establishment of air links by a Chinese company from Xian, Hangzhou and Chengdu to cities of Uzbekistan.

The guest was provided with detailed information on the introduction of the Open Skies regime on October 1, 2019 at the international airports of Uzbek's Bukhara, Karshi, Nukus and Termez cities using the “fifth air freedom”.

In this context, the Uzbek side noted the importance of opening air links between the cities of Xian and Tashkent for Uzbekistan, as well as the fact that the China's Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co. Ltd became the first airline to take advantage of the benefits and preferences in organizing charter and regular flights.

It was also noted that upon the initiative of the president of Uzbekistan, the issues of opening direct flights between the cities of Bukhara-Luoyang and Samarkand-Xian were addressed.

During the negotiations, the Chinese side requested assistance in obtaining discounts in services at the airport of Tashkent city and, in the future, at the airports of other cities of Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek side assured representatives of the Chinese airline of its readiness to fully support the launch of new scheduled flights between the cities of China and Uzbekistan and to provide discounts and subsidies in services at airports in Uzbekistan as well as necessary assistance in organizing new regular flights from China to the country.

The parties noted the need to make the Hangzhou-Xian-Tashkent flight scheduled until the end of December 2019.

Earlier Trend reported that on September 27, the first charter flight Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co.Ltd linking the Chinese city of Xian with the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, arrived in Uzbekistan.
