Toyota Tsusho interested in construction of solar power plants in Uzbek regions

Executive Officer of the Japanese trading company Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Mamoru Akiyama, expressed the company's interest in building wind and solar power plants in several regions of Uzbekistan on the principles of public-private partnership, Trend reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

At a meeting with the government delegation of Uzbekistan in Tokyo on Oct. 4, Akiyama also expressed interest in participating in privatization of large industrial facilities in Uzbekistan.

Prerequisites for diversifying activities in Uzbekistan in the automotive, textile, chemical, mining and food industries, electronics and hospitality were discussed with the leadership of Toyota Tsusho as well.

During the visit of the government delegation, meetings were also held with the leadership of Keidanren Japan Business Federation and trading company Sumitomo Corporation.

Negotiations with the Executive Advisor of Japan-Russia Business Cooperation Committee of Keidanren Teruo Asada turned out to be very productive - a full understanding of the mutual interests of business representatives of both countries was achieved and a high potential was noted for intensifying communication between Japanese and Uzbek companies in order to develop and implement joint projects.

For this, the prospects and organization of large-scale business events with the involvement of entrepreneurs of both countries were examined in order to highlight the advantages of the investment climate created in the country and favorable conditions for foreign capital.

Sumitomo Corporation, represented by Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer Masayuki Hyodo, also expressed interest in implementing investment projects in the energy and agricultural sectors. Moreover, the possibilities of the participation of Japanese partners in the modernization and integrated management of transport infrastructure facilities and special industrial zones were examined.
