Some 1.137 million tons of cargo were transported by sea in January-September 2019, which is 1.5 times more than in the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the report of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
The total amount of cargo transported by sea amounted to $687.547 million in January-September 2019, which is almost 23.7 percent more than last year.
The volume of export shipping amounted to almost 245,500 tons in January-September 2019, which is 1.3 times more than last year. The total indicator of exported goods amounted to $111.74 million (an increase of 25.9 percent).
The volume of import cargo transportation by sea for the reporting period amounted to almost 891,500 tons in January-September 2019, which is 1.6 times more than in the same period of last year. The total indicator of the imported goods amounted to $575.81 million (an increase of 23.3 percent).
In general, Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover amounted to $25.244 billion, in particular, export - $14.87 billion, import - almost $10.378 billion in January-September 2019.
