Changes in consumer prices in Azerbaijan (Jan.-Sept. 2019)

Prices for consumer goods and services in Azerbaijan increased by 2.6 percent in January-September 2019 compared to the same period in 2018, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee.

According to the report, prices grew by 3.5 percent for food, drinks and tobacco products, by 1.3 percent for non-food items and by 2.4 percent for paid services to the population.

Prices for consumer goods and services increased by 0.3 percent in September compared to August. Food, beverage and tobacco prices increased by 0.7 percent. The prices for non-food items and paid services to the population remained unchanged.

The prices for yogurts, sour cream, butter, olive oil, corn oil, lemons, apples, pears, pomegranates, grapes, kiwi, cabbages, pumpkins, beetroots, onions, granulated sugar, vodka and energy drinks decreased in September.

At the same time, the prices for rice, semolina and buckwheat, macaroni, chicken, beef, lamb, fresh fish, cottage cheese, eggplants, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peppers, carrots, garlic, sugar, coffee, cocoa, ice cream, mineral drinks and beer increased.

The prices for other food products have changed slightly.
