Kazakhstan's agriculture sees investments growth by over 40%

Value of investments in agriculture, forestry and fisheries in Kazakhstan amounted to 326.2 billion tenge (approximately $837 million) in the first nine months of 2019 indicating an increase of 40.8 percent compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh Statistics Committee.

According to the report, some 158.1 billion tenge (approximately $405.6 million) of investments accounted for main crops growing regions of the country, i.e. North Kazakhstan, Akmola and Kostanay regions (48.3 percent of total investments in the area).

The largest growth of investments in country’s agriculture, forestry and fisheries was observed in Shymkent city value of investments (which grew by 13.9 times).

Also, significant investments increase was also observed in Turkestan and West Kazakhstan region of the country (by 2.52 and 2.26 times respectively).

Over 90 percent of investments into the fixed capital of agriculture, forestry and fisheries were allocated to growing of seasonal crops (63 percent, increase of 38.7 percent) and animal husbandry (27.6 percent, increase of 62.6 percent).
