Iran's ports are equipped with passive defense and the country's infrastructures are not limited to certain position during an emergency situation, said Managing Director of Port and Maritime Organization (PMO).

"The Port and Maritime Organization considered the infrastructures sensitive due to their passive defense classification," said Mohammad Rastad, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"Vast measures have been taken to prepare the infrastructures for passive defense. These plans were developed for all ports of Iran," he said.

"Therefore Iran's ports will not be surprised during unusual situations and proper measures will be taken accordingly," the managing director added.

"In terms of port infrastructures, all the requirements covering equipment and infrastructure capacities, have been spread through country's ports, so all of them have the possibility to allow traffic," Rastad said.

"This is a considerable capacity that is not limited to a specific geographic location; therefore, the Port and Maritime Organization can provide the necessary means of transportation," he indicated
