BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 8
By Anastasiya Savchenko – Trend:
Among the priority tasks facing the Baku Metro is the construction of stations after the Khatai station (conditional names of the stations are Y-14 and Y-15), spokesman for the Baku Metro CJSC Bakhtiyar Mammadov told Trend.
"It is necessary to build two stations following the Khatai station and three stations after the Darnagul station,” Mammadov said. “Afterwards, it will be possible to separate the red and green lines that are connected at the 28 May station."
The spokesman stressed that after the separation of the red and green lines, it will be possible to create a special train schedule on these lines.
“Each line must work independently,” Mammadov said. “A depot for the green line is being built in Darnagul.”
In accordance with the plan for the future development of the Baku Metro, the length of the green line which is under construction will be 41.8 kilometers.
It will cover Khatai, Nasimi, Binagadi, Narimanov, Sabunchi and Surakhani districts of Baku. In accordance with the plan, round-trip train movement will be organized for the first time in the history of the Baku Metro in the future.
Darnagul, Azadlig Prospekti (Avenue), Nasimi, Memar Ajami, 20 January, Inshaatchilar, Nizami, Jafar Jabbarli and Khatai stations of this line, which will consist of 23 stations, are already in operation.
