TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.12
Trend:
Chabahar Port Development Council has requested for special credit to develop Chabahar region to construct more reserves and silo, said the secretary of the council.
"The council has requested Central Bank of Iran to provide a special credit to the private sector to build vegetable oil reservoirs and silo at Shahid Beheshti quay," said Eraj Hassanpour, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.
"The current warehouses in Chabahar have 300,000 tons storage capacities that can be increased to 500,000 tons," Hassanpour added.
"Iran Trading Company has imported 400,000 tons of goods via Chabahar Port except vegetable oil due to lack of reservoirs for vegetable oil storage," the official said. "Currently, we seek to add 100,000 trucks with free zone plate numbers to Sistan and Baluchestan Province to transport cargo on Chabahor transit road."
"It is planned that part of auto part imports as well as exports of goods including mineral materials will be done via Chabahar Port; as agreed, Iranian Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) will export some goods via the port," Hassanpour added
The official has emphasized that there are good opportunities in Chabahar Port, since it is not sanctioned.
"We seek to increase the commercial interest rate in Chabahar from 10 to 25 percent. The private sector is ready to import 30 percent of basic goods via Chabahar port," Hassanpour said.
"Considering Shahid Beheshti quay in Chabahar, there is a good possibility to harbor oil ships and tankers," he added.
