In the first seven months (March 21 - Oct. 22, 2019) of the current Iranian year, Iran's exports of steel increased by 8 percent, compared to the same period last year, reads the report on exports of Iran's 10 largest steel companies published by the Islamic Republic News Agency IRNA, Trend reports.
According to the reports, during the reported seven-month period, Iran exported just over 4 million tons of steel.
The 10 largest Iranian steel companies (Esfahan Steel Company, Mobarakeh Steel Company, Khouzestan Steel Company, Khorasan Steel Complex Company, Iran Alloy Steel Company, Hormozgan Steel Company, South Kaveh Steel Company, Saba Steel Company, Bonab Steel Company and Chadormalu Steel) exported 561,000 tons of steel in the seventh month (Sept. 23-Oct. 22, 2019) of the current Iranian year, which indicates 54 percent increase compared to the same month last year, the report said.
According to the report, Khouzestan Steel Company alone exported 1 million tons of steel in the reported seven-month period. Though the company's export decreased by 19 percent compared to the same period last year, its share among Iranian steel exporters stood at 26.7 percent.
The report stated that Mobarakeh Steel Company exported over 885,000 tons of steel in the reported period, which is 23 percent more compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Esfahan Steel Company exported 681,000 tons of steel, thus achieved 12 growth compared to the same period last year.
Iran is aiming to bring steel output to 55 million tons by 2026 and to export 40 percent of it.
