Kazakhstan increases car manufacturing by over 70%

Volume of cars manufacturing in Kazakhstan amounted to 5,453 vehicles worth 40.2 billion tenge (approximately $103.9 million) in October 2019, which is 71 percent more than during the same months of 2018, Trend reports with reference to the data of The Association of Kazakhstan Automobile Business.

Manufacturing volume during 10 months of 2019 exceeds total manufacturing volume in 2018 by 50.4 percent, the report said.

Furthermore, market share of cars manufactured in Kazakhstan reached historic maximum in October: 60.89 percent. Input of the sector to GDP structure neared 300 billion tenge ($775.2 million) during 10 months of 2019.

Thus, cars manufacturing from January through October 2019 equaled 38,953 vehicles of all types worth 269.2 billion tenge ($675.7 million) compared to 25,900 vehicles during the same period of last year.

Spare parts and car accessories manufacturing reached 61.7 million tenge ($159,446). Some 34,276 passenger cars were manufactured during 10 months of 2019 (increase of 41.9 percent), as well as 2,957 cargo vehicles (increase of 237.6 percent), 908 buses (increase of 227.8 percent0, 693 trailers and semi-trailers (increase of 56.4 percent) and 119 units of other specialized vehicles.

Over half of the vehicles manufacturing accounts for Kostanay region’s Saryarkaautoprom plant. The plant has manufactured 19,625 buses, passenger and cargo vehicles, increasing the manufacturing by 111 percent. Some 1,886 vehicles were exported to Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus.

Number of cars of Kazakh manufacturing, which were sold on internal market amounted to 34,170 vehicles, which is 45 percent more than during the same period of last year.
