Georgia cuts knitwear exports to Turkey

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 20

Georgia exported knitted goods to Turkey for a total amount of $30.9 million from January through October 2019, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

On an annualized basis, Georgia reduced the export of knitted goods by $2.8 million. For the same period last year, knitted goods totaling $33.7 million were exports from Georgia to Turkey.

From January through October 2019, Georgia exported men's suits to Turkey for a total amount of $10.9 million.

On an annualized basis, Georgia increased the export of men's suits by $2.8 million. For the same period last year, men's suits were exported from Georgia to the country for a total of 8.1 million.

For ten months of 2019, total exports from Turkey to Georgia amounted to $1.3 billion. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $169.5 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey from January to October 2019 exceeded $1.4 billion, which is 14.2 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.
