Number of small, medium entities up in Kazakhstan's Kyzylorda

The number of small and medium business entities (SMEs) in Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda region increased by 1,393 entities compared to the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to the press office of regional akimat (administrative center).

According to the information, some 52,471 entities were registered in the region as of November 1, 2019.

“The number of SMEs was 51,078 entities as of the beginning of 2019. In turn, the number of operating SMEs increased by 3,288 entities,” the report said.

Furthermore, all conditions required for successful business activities are created in the region.

“Thus, 91 projects were subsidized since the beginning of the year, total cost of which was 2.6 billion tenge ($6.7 million), and 81 entrepreneurs received loan guarantees worth 811 million tenge ($2 million),” the report said.

In his September address, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym Jomart Tokayev noted the importance of small business support. In this regard, the government of the country was ordered to develop the legislative base to exempt micro and small business from paying taxes related to main activities for three years. The introduction of the legislative base is expected in 2020.
