The United Arab Emirates’s Flydubai low-cost airline will help increase the flow of goods between Uzbekistan and the Gulf states, stated Vice President of Flydubai Cargo Mohamed Hassan during his visit to Tashkent, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

"Uzbekistan is an important trade partner of the United Arab Emirates. We see an increase in demand for our cargo transportation services. We have delivered over 125,000 kg of various cargoes to Uzbekistan since we entered this market in March 2019. Thanks to our route network and agreements with other airlines and logistics operators, we can provide companies from Uzbekistan with the opportunity to enter new markets around the world," Hassan said.

Flydubai Cargo mainly delivers general cargo such as various gadgets, spare parts, and the like, to Uzbekistan as well as priority cargo such as drugs, mail, and even animals. Deliveries to Uzbekistan come from Europe, India, China, the UAE and Singapore.

Through agreements with other airlines and a strategic partnership with Emirates SkyCargo, Flydubai Cargo has built a route network of over 300 destinations. This allows companies from Uzbekistan to supply their goods worldwide. Currently, Flydubai Cargo mainly supplies perishable goods from Uzbekistan such as fresh vegetables and fruits, to the Gulf countries.

In March 2019, Flydubai launched direct flights between Tashkent and Dubai and began to provide air cargo services, becoming the first airline from the UAE in the market of Uzbekistan. It currently operates five flights a week to Tashkent. Since the company has entered the Uzbek market, more than 49,000 passengers have chosen Flydubai for their travels along the Tashkent-Dubai-Tashkent route.

Flydubai Airlines was founded in July 2008 by the government of the Emirate of Dubai. The airline’s regular route network consists of 94 points in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.
