Azerbaijan’s cannery eyes to expand production volumes

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 5

By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:

Azerbaijan’s Lankaran cannery, engaged in the production of a wide range of fruit juices and compotes in the country’s Lankaran district, plans to expand production volumes, a source in the company told Trend.

The cannery produces up to 45,000-47,000 bottles of various types of compotes daily, according to the source.

“There are plans to increase the number of varieties of these products, as well as increase the production volumes,” the source noted. “Starting next year, the cannery plans to increase production volumes to 50,000- 52,000 bottles daily, as well as start exports to neighboring countries of the region. Export deliveries to Arab countries are planned. Negotiations are underway with potential customers abroad.”

The source also noted that the retail price of compote in the domestic market is 1.4 -1.8 manat (80 cent – $1).

“At the same time, wholesale prices for the factory’s products are lower, since foreign customers fully cover all transport and customs costs,” the source added.

The products manufactured by the Lankaran cannery have a certificate of conformity issued by Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

The cannery has Italian equipment.
