Project on supplying 3 Iranian provinces with water from Oman Gulf to start soon

The project on supply of water from the Oman Gulf to Iran's three provinces (Sistan and Baluchestan, South Khorasan and Razavi Khorasan) will start next week, Governor of Sistan and Baluchestan Rahmdel Bameri said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Water supply to three eastern provinces of Iran is in line with the public demands, Bameri said.

Moreover, the foundation of the Chabahar airport has been laid in the province, as well as the construction of the new Tis city has started and the infrastructure of Rimdan border market is being created, Bameri added.

Cleaning and deepening of the province's fishing ports will be completed and more than 700 fishing vessels will be able to carry out fishing activities, the governor said.

According to the project, in the first stage, 70 million cubic meters of water will be supplied to from the Gulf of Iran to Sistan and Baluchestan province, while South Khorasan and Razavi Khorasan provinces will get 70 million and 110 million cubic meters of water, respectively. In total, $3.9 billion are excepted to be invested in the project. According to the schedule, the project will be fully implemented within seven years in three stages.
