The Japanese-Uzbek business forum was held in Tokyo as part of the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan led by the head of state to Japan, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
During the forum attended by representatives of ministries, agencies and business circles of the two countries, sectional sessions were held on the issues related to new areas of cooperation and prospects for bilateral relations in the food, textile and silk industries, production of leather clothes and leather goods.
Uzbekistan’s textile companies and organizers of hop-textile clusters, such as Textile Technologies Group, Shaxrisabz Textile, Art Soft Textile, Art Textile also participated in the event. Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture and the Uztextile Association made presentations for Japanese business circles.
Following the results of the event, a number of agreements were reached. An agreement was signed between Japanese Brothers Industries and the Uztextile Association to create an Uzbek-Japanese multifunctional training, logistics and service center in Uzbekistan for a total of $0.5 million.
Brothers Industry is a manufacturer of office equipment and sewing machines. The company was founded in 1908 as a sewing machine repair shop. Today it is a multinational corporation with sales offices located around the world and a staff of 23,000 people.
An export agreement was concluded between Japanese trading company Masui Co Ltd and Art Soft Textile LLC for the supply of cotton yarn and terry products totaling $1 million;
Another agreement was reached between Japanese Kuraray company and LLC Art Soft Tex on the production of new types of terry products in Uzbekistan, with subsequent export of products to the markets of Japan, the USA and the European Union.
In addition, negotiations were held with the management of Murata Machinery, during which issues of supply and production of textile equipment of the Japanese company in Uzbekistan were discussed.
Murata Machinery Ltd. was founded in 1935. The main activities are the production and sale of textile equipment. Murata Machinery Ltd. is headquartered in Kyoto. It has branches in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Yokohama, Fukuoka, and production facilities in Inuyama, Kaga, Riu, Oita and Gifu.
