The Turkmen Ajayyp ussat halal onumler company is developing production of top-quality beef, including marbled meat, Trend reports referring to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
A major producer of meat and dairy products in the Ahal region of Turkmenistan purchased for this purpose more than 500 head of cattle abroad, the report said.
In total, there are plans to produce 150 tons of beef per year, 10 percent of them will account for marbled meat.
The company’s another plant, where more than 3,000 head of cattle are kept, is located in the Baherden district of the Ahal region.
In 2015, state programs were adopted in Turkmenistan to increase exports and create import-substituting industries.
There are plans to implement 33 projects as part of the program to increase export volumes of products manufactured in Turkmenistan. This includes creation of new industries aimed at the development of the chemical industry, light industry, machine engineering, agriculture and food industry, as well as domestic pharmaceuticals.
Implementation of 81 projects is envisaged as part of the program for the manufacture of import-substituting products. Within its framework, construction, chemical, household and other production facilities will be built based on local raw materials. In addition, there are plans to build facilities for the processing and manufacture of various types of meat and dairy products, fruits and vegetables, as well as fish products.
The program was adopted with the aim of forming import-substituting industries, strengthening the positive balance of foreign trade, creating new jobs and increasing the share of the private sector of the economy.
