Iran intends to establish co-op with Turkey in developing artificial intelligence

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 25

By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

It is necessary that Iran and Turkey cooperate in the development of artificial intelligence, Iran’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi said at a meeting with Turkey's Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan in Tehran on Dec.24, Trend reports referring to the Iranian ministry.

The Iranian minister noted that the foundation of the digital economy is based on artificial intelligence.

Jahromi highly valued the meeting of the Iran-Turkey special committee on joint cooperation in ICT, which was held earlier on the same day.

The Iranian minister expressed willingness to establish cooperation between the two countries in order to have a share in the digital world economy.

Reality is that action is needed, not words to develop artificial intelligence, Jahromi said. The Iranian minister expressed hope that new perspectives will emerge for bilateral and regional cooperation in the field of new technologies.

In turn, Turkish Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan said that his country also believes in developing cooperation with Iran in the field of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and that Turkey has needed experience in it.

At the meeting, it was noted that the agreements in the field of ICT reached following the quadrilateral meetings of the communication ministers of Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Russia also remain in the center of attention.

The Turkish deputy minister added that Turkey is ready to host the next quadrilateral meeting of the communication ministers of the four countries.
