BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 7

By Fakhri Vakilov-Trend:

Uzbekistan's gross domestic product (GDP) growth by the end of 2019 amounted to 5.5 percent with a forecast of 5.4 percent, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Industry.

This growth is more than in 2018, when the GDP growth rate was fixed at 5.1 percent.

GDP growth was mainly provided by industry growth by 6.4 percent (forecast 5.2 percent), construction 11.8 percent (8.4 percent) and services by 6.1 percent (6.3 percent).

The per capita GDP produced amounted to $1,741, having increased by 13.6 percent compared to 2018 ($1,533).

The contribution to the total GDP growth in the services sector was 1.9 percent, industry 1.5 percent, agriculture - 0.9 percent, construction - 0.6 percent, net taxes - 0.6 percent.

Sustainable economic growth was ensured by the balance between aggregate supply from the sectors of the economy and domestic demand, supported by high rates of investment (growth of 28.6 percent) and real incomes of the population (10 percent).
