Iran's SAIPA auto group surpasses its own production record

TEHRAN,Iran, Jan.10

The production volume of Iran's top car manufacturer SAIPA, in the current Iranian year (began March 21,2019) has reached more than 285,000 vehicles, surpassing its record of the last year, Trend reports via IRNA.

SAIPA production from the start of current Iranian year (started March 21,2019) until January 8 has reached 285,451 cars that indicate some 2,000 vehicles per day, the auto maker announced in a statement.

The daily production volume of the company in the same time last Iranian year was 700 vehicles per day.

Due to necessary preparation and predictions to increase production, it is expected that the auto manufacturer will continue to increase production despite the sanctions.

The government of Iran is expected to assign its share in SAIPA, along with other 17 public companies, to the private sector.

The SAIPA group is the country’s second largest car maker headquartered in Tehran. It has been operating since in 1965. The company’s main subsidiaries are Saipa Diesel, Pars Khodro and Zamyad Co.
