Baku Textile Factory talks plans for production, export of clothing

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 14

Baku Textile Factory, a big textile enterprise in Azerbaijan, plans to conclude a contract for the export of textile products with partners in Europe, Director of the factory Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

This includes supply of the factory’s textile products for 160,000 manat ($94,117), the director said.

“In February this year, we plan to sign a contract for the supply of women’s, men’s and children’s clothes to Germany,” Babayeva noted. “The factory has established cooperation with partners in this European country, making several deliveries to Germany.”

“To date, the Baku Textile Factory has exported products to Germany for more than 9 million manat ($5.2 million),” the director added. “At the same time, last year, export of factory products to this market increased by 2.5 million manat ($1.4 million). Various types of women’s, men’s and children's clothing were supplied to Germany. During the reporting year, the export of children’s underwear and sock products accounted for more than 800,000 manat ($470,588). We expect to increase these export figures after a contract with foreign partners is concluded.”

Some 300 people work in the Baku Textile Factory and seven production lines are used.

The factory has been operating since 1939. It was the first factory in the South Caucasus operating in the field of textile industry.

Presently, the factory continues its activity upon the European standards by using Germany’s and Japan’s modern equipment and technologies. The experienced staff works at the factory.

The factory produces everyday clothes, evening dresses, corporate clothing, children's clothes, sportswear, medical uniforms, as well as overalls, school uniforms and all types of workwear, including promo clothing and military uniforms.
