Export volume of goods increases in Iran

The export volume of goods increased by 18.8 percent while export value by 5 percent in Iran during nine months (from March 21 through December 21, 2019) of this Iranian year, Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade, Chairman of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization Hamid Zadbum said.

Zadbum made the remark at the award ceremony of exemplary exporters in Iran’s Hormozgan province, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

“The goods worth $31.9 billion were exported by Iran during nine months,” the deputy minister said. “The products worth $31.8 billion were imported by Iran. A positive balance worth $66 million was observed in Iran's trade during the reporting period.”

"The process of exporting the products has continued this year despite the US sanctions, transportation problems and problems with the return of currency as a result of export," Zadbum said.

Iranian Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Reza Rahmani said that 103 million tons of products were exported during nine months.

According to Iranian Customs Administration, 88.3 million tons worth $27.4 billion were exported during eight months (March 21 through November 21, 2019) of this Iranian year.

The export volume increased by 16 percent during eight months of this Iranian year compared to the same period of last Iranian year (75.8 million tons).

Some 22.1 million tons worth $28.3 billion were imported by Iran during eight months.

The import volume increased by 1.5 percent while the import value – by 4.8 percent during eight months of this Iranian year compared to the same period of last Iranian year.
