In 2019, the price of raw milk in Georgia was higher than in previous years, Trend reports citing GeorgianDairy, an information and analytical resource for the livestock sector in Georgia.

According to GeorgianDairy, in 2019, the minimumprice was fixed in July - 73 lari ($25.42) per 100 liters, while the maximum - in December, amounting to 123 lari ($42.83)

The difference between 2019 and 2018 has especially increased in the second half of 2019. This is the result of a dry summer which led to reduced delivery and high inflation in the country. By the end of the year, the difference was 14 percent. In general, in 2019, the average annual nominal price of raw milk from a farm increased by 8 percent.

In 2019, compared to 2018, the real average annual price of raw milk increased by three percent, compared to 2017 - by one percent.

Last year, 3.4 million liters of raw milk worth $1.4 million were exported from Georgia, which is 34 percent more compared to 2018 and 6 percent less compared to 2017.

Import of raw milk to Georgia amounted to 149 million liters, which is a record high.
