Turkey reveals volume of cement, steel exports to Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 22

Turkey’s export of steel and cement to Georgia from January through December 2019 amounted to $178.4 million, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on Jan. 21.

During this period, Turkey’s export of steel to Georgia dropped by 1.6 percent compared to the same period of 2018, and amounted to $125.7 million.

Turkey’s export of cement to Georgia increased by 17.2 percent, reaching $52.6 million.

In December 2019, Turkey’s export of steel to Georgia increased by 8.4 percent, compared to December 2018, amounting to $10.7 million.

In this month, Turkey’s export of cement to Georgia increased by 80.6 percent compared to the same month of 2018, and reached $5.8 million.

Export of steel from Turkey dropped by 10.6 percent in 2019 compared to 2018, amounting to $13.8 billion.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s export of cement increased by 17.8 percent, exceeding $3.5 billion.
