In anticipation of the 41st anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, 107 new industrial facilities worth 3.7 trillion rials (about $90.4 million) were commissioned in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, said Morteza Niroumand, managing director of East Azerbaijan Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO), Trend reports via IRNA.
Niroumand noted that 1,578 people have been employed at these facilities.
Some 30 percent of the commissioned facilities are related to chemical industry, 28 percent - metal, 25 percent - food, 9 percent - cellulose, 6 percent - non-metal and 2 percent to textile industry, the director added.
In addition, in the past years, operation of 85 industrial facilities that were shut down for various reasons, has been restored, and 739 people have been employed, said Niroumand.
As many as 24 renovation projects worth 215 billion rials (about $5.1 million) will be commissioned, the director noted.
Niroumand added that the work will be launched to locate 570 production facilities on the territory of 406 hectares and employ 12,000 people in the Shahid Selimi Industrial Park, 160 production facilities on 78 hectares in Sang Shahr Industrial Park and employ 2,500 people, 112 production facilities on 82 hectares in Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani Industrial Park and employ 4,000 people.
