Turkey intends to increase trade turnover with Uzbekistan

Turkey intends to increase trade turnover with Uzbekistan by $5 billion till the end of 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend.

"The countries have great potential for increasing the trade turnover. Uzbekistan is one of Turkey’s important trading partners in Central Asia," a source in the ministry said.

In November 2019, trade turnover between Turkey and Uzbekistan increased by $3.8 million compared to November 2018, amounting to $185 million.

In this month, Turkey's export to Uzbekistan amounted to $96.4 million, and import from Uzbekistan to $88.5 million.

Meanwhile, trade turnover between Turkey and Uzbekistan increased by $429.8 million from January through November 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, exceeding $2 billion.

During this period, Turkey’s export to Uzbekistan was over $1 billion, and import from Uzbekistan exceeded $971 million.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover was amounted to $33.2 billion in November 2019.

In November 2019, Turkey’s export increased by 0.1 percent compared to November 2018, amounting to $15.5 billion.

In this month, Turkey’s import increased by 9.7 percent compared to the same month of 2018, and reached $17.7 billion.
