SAB company, producer of sausages in Azerbaijan, will begin developing a new line of halal (food prepared according to Islamic law, free from pork products, alcohol and certain other ingredients) sausages in the next months, Rovshan Abdullayev, the company’s chief marketing manager, told Trend.
This includes production of new types of sliced sausages, Abdullayev said.
“We plan to develop two or three types of sausage products,” the manager added. “We are working on the design of new types of products. It is intended for sale in the domestic market, but we also have plans for its export in the future.”
Abdullayev reminded that last year, two types of halal sausages worth 20-28 manat ($11-16) per kilogram were developed.
“This year it is planned to expand the varieties of sausages, including halal ones,” the manager said. “There is serious competition in the sausages market, new producers are appearing and introducing their new products. Therefore, we are trying to maintain our niche in the market and expand the customer base, improving the quality of products and expanding their varieties.”
So far, Sahliyali Group of Companies has been the most serious competitor of SAB company in the domestic sausage market, Abdullayev noted.
Presently, the SAB company produces 60 types of meat products and 50 types of dairy products under SAB brand.
The company’s production facility is located in Azerbaijan’s Khirdalan city.
