Uzbekistan will purchase energy-efficient equipment for production of paper bags, as part of the "Mega Paper Plus" project, Trend reports via Ministry of Economy and Industry of Uzbekistan.
Goal of this project is to increase production and sales of paper bags by reducing energy costs.
International Bank for Reconstruction and Development invested $128,940 in this project.
The new equipment should increase productivity by over 4 times, allowing to save up to 25,210 KWh of electricity per year.
At present, the average annual energy consumption of the company is 405,210 kWh/year. After modernization it will be 380,000 kWh/year. Share of energy costs in the structure of total costs will decrease by 20.2 percent.
Paper carrier bags also offer many eco-friendly benefits to those who use them. Unlike polyethylene, paper bags do not harm the environment, as an organic raw material it decomposes completely in a short period of time.
