Kazakhstan’s GDP growth amounted to 3.6 percent in January 2020 compared to 2.9 percent in 2019, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s prime minister.
The socio-economic development results were announced during the government session chaired by Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin.
As noted during the meeting, investments in fixed assets increased by 3.1 percent during the reporting month.
“Positive dynamics is observed in all basic sectors of the economy: growth in construction amounted to 12.5 percent, in trade to 5.2 percent, in transport to 3.6 percent, in the mining industry, manufacturing sector, including mechanical engineering by 21 percent each, in ferrous metallurgy by 17.5 percent.
The assets of Kazakhstan’s National Fund increased by 6.8 percent to $61.9 billion, revenues to the republican budget reached 929.7 billion tenge ($2.4 billion) which is 95 percent of the planned value.
Mamin said during the meeting that in order to fulfill the instructions of Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, maintenance of set economic growth rate this year, starting from its first month is necessary.
He also pointed out the need to strengthen efforts to attract investment, develop small and medium-sized businesses, and increase labor productivity and real incomes.
