The value of all mines in Iran stands at $22 billion, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani said at the opening ceremony of a gold ingot production plant in the Bardaskan county of Iran’s Razavi Khorasan province, Trend reports via IRNA.
Rahmani said that there are more than 60 types of mining materials in Iran.
“On the 41st anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran (Feb. 1-11), an industrial project worth 500 trillion rials (about $11.9 billion) has been commissioned,” the minister noted. “Investments worth 150 trillion rials (about $3.5 billion) were made in an aluminum production plant in southern Iran, but the plant hasn’t yet been launched.”
Rahmani added that an industrial project involving rare earth elements will be launched soon in Alborz province. It is also planned to commission Sangan iron ore mines project in Razavi Khorasan province, said the minister.
A gold ingot production plant has been commissioned in the Bardaskan county of Iran’s Razavi Khorasan province. The plant will produce 220 kilograms of 24 hallmark gold ingots a year. The construction cost of the plant amounted to 1.2 trillion rials (about $28.5 million) and the plant will employ 180 people.
