BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 14
By Matanat Nasibova – Trend:
An Azerbaijani plant engaged in the manufacture of polymer pipes, aluminum and copper products plans to expand the varieties of copper profiles, a source in the aluminum plant, one of the residents of Azerbaijan’s Sumgayit Technological Park (STP), told Trend.
“Last year, production volumes at the plant increased by more than seven times compared to 2018,” the source noted. “This year, it is planned to build up the plant’s production capacity by increasing the output of copper products. New types of profiles will be developed, and new production lines are expected to open in the future.”
The plant’s products are in demand in the domestic market and are also exported, the source said.
The aluminum plant produces warm and cold profiles, window systems, aluminum electrical tires and other types of aluminum products.
Moreover, the plant melts and produces aluminum, as well as melts copper. The productivity of aluminum furnaces is 30,000 tons per year. This year it is planned to increase the productivity to 35,000-40,000 tons.
The local raw materials produced in Azerbaijan’s Ganja city are mainly used in the production process.
The aluminum plant was commissioned in the STP in 2014.
Currently, STP residents are 12 plants and more than 30 production sites equipped with the latest technological equipment of European and Japanese production, which employs 2,000 people.
All plants of the STP are equipped with laboratories of European production and are accredited in accordance with the AZS ISO/IEC 17025-2009 standards.
The manufactured products have the appropriate certificates including the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 international standards.
The plant has modern German equipment.
