Iran's auto production has increased 100 percent from November 22, 2019 trhough January 20, 2020, while the delivery of cars to customers during past two months have risen 140 percent, said Deputy Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
"The country's annual production is currently 2.5 million vehicles, with the 12-percent value added in auto industry, and 630,000 people are employed in the automaking industry," said Saeed Zandi, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
"Iran has surpassed the shocks of sanctions, and from the start of current Iranian year [March 21, 2019], the number of production permits increased by 18 percent," the deputy minister added.
"The increase of auto prices was an issue, but it was beyond auto makers' control; it were inflation and foreign currency rate that affected the prices," Zandi said.
"The government target is to support domestic production;it is planned to reduce import by €275 million goods in the current year, and the auto industry is to reduce imports by €165 million," the official said.
"The government seeks to impose capital gains tax on those car owners that have more than one vehicle with the aim to prevent dealership that effected auto market," he added.
