"Currently, Turkey is ranked 4th in the world by the quality and novelty of the equipment used in textile mills. The quality of the produced products has already reached the level when Turkish textiles are deservedly compared to German and Italian textiles in terms of quality. At the same time, Turkish high quality textiles are much cheaper than their European counterparts. Today, the production of textiles accounts for 20 percent of all industrial production in Turkey and about 10 percent of total GDP of Turkey," the report says.

To date, there are 12 universities operating in Turkey, aimed at training personnel for the textile industry.

In January 2020, the trade turnover of textile raw materials between Turkey and Uzbekistan increased by 18 percent to $6.6 million.
