Weekly summary on Turkmen textile volumes purchased by foreign business

A total of 49 transactions have been registered at the trades of the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan from February 24 through February 29, Trendreports citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Cotton yarn and fabrics, colorless sheet glass have been sold in the amount of $266,000 to businessmen from foreign countries including from the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, according to the agency.

Businessmen from the UK, the UAE, China and Pakistan purchased cotton yarn in the amount of 4.5 million Turkmen manat ($1.3 million).

As for the domestic market, Turkmen entrepreneurs (SC Turkmengas) procured high-density polyethylene and carpet products in the total amount of more than 59.0 million Turkmen manat ($16.8 million).

Participants in exchange trading can be enterprises and organizations of all forms of ownership, citizens of Turkmenistan and other states by acquiring a brokerage place or by concluding service contract with the exchange brokers.

The main export items of Turkmenistan are petroleum products, cotton fiber, domestic textile products, and the chemical industry.

Prices for some products put up for auction change daily and are set in accordance with the international quotations; for cotton in accordance with Liverpool’s Cotton Outlook news agency and for oil products in accordance with Platts news agency.
