Iran has managed to manufacture certain types of equipment in March 21, 2019 to January 20, 2020, which allowed saving some 1.2 billion euros, said Saeed Zarandi, the deputy industry, mining and trade minister for planning, Trend reports citing IRNA.
According to Zarandi, 10 meeting have been held so far on production of non-domestic products and it has been decided to locally manufacture more than 222 spare parts and equipment.
Zarandi said that in 10 months, it was decided to produce 106 types of spare parts in the automotive industry worth 282.5 million euro.
Deputy minister said that according to the decision to produce equipment in the petrochemical sector, 39 types of spare parts worth 143 million euros will be manufactured.
Among the equipment parts, the official named 52 types worth 124 million euro in electricity, electronics and telecommunications sector, 18 types worth 700,000 euros in the copper industry, 5 types of spare parts and equipment worth 430 million euros in the steel industry and panels for the production of metal pipes worth 250 million euros.
The US imposed new sanctions on Iran in November 2018. The sanctions had a significant impact on the Iranian economy. Iran seeks to produce equipment and other means internationally in various sectors to reduce the impact of sanctions.
