Volume of loans for development of agricultural parks announced in Iran

Some 8.3 trillion rials (about $197 million) have been paid for the development of Iran's agricultural parks since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2019), said Managing Director of the Iranian Agricultural Parks Company Ali Ashraf Mansori, Trend reports citing the Ministry.

According to Mansori, some of these funds were used to create greenhouses, as well as invested in fishing, livestock and poultry sectors.

"Iran's Agricultural Parks Company seeks to ensure food security, increase production, create employment, increase water use and exports, and attract investments," he said.

Mansori said that 87 agricultural parks have been established in Iran and the area of these parks is over 1,500 hectares. So far, 460 hectares of land have been put into use.

The company official said that in current Iranian year (beginning March 21, 2019), the value of agricultural park production is estimated at 4 trillion rials (about $95.2 million).

"A greenhouse has been set up on an area of 1,600 hectares in Ardabil province. Full commissioning of this park will produce 450,000 tons of greens and vegetables a year and 16,000 people will be employed,” he said.

Mansouri added that a fishing park was created in the area of 19,000 hectares in Hormozgan Province.

“With full operation of the park, 55,000 tons of fishing products will be manufactured and 12,000 people will be employed,” he said.
