Production of Iranian Joghatai Ferrochrome Complex increased

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11

Production of Joghatai Ferrochrome Complex located in Joghatai County of Iran's northwestern Razavi Khorasan Province, increased by 44 percent during 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2019 - February 19, 2020) compared to the same period last year, Trend reports the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

Over 19,000 tons of high-carbon ferrochrome were produced at the complex during the reporting period, while 13,100 tons were produced in the same period last year.

Production of the complex increased by 103 percent compared to the plan (9,300 tons), the report said.

In the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 - February 19), the complex delivered 2,100 tons of the products, which is 120-percent increase compared to 959 tons produced in the same period last year.

Ferrochrome is used to improve the quality of various steels.

Joghatai Ferrochrome Complex operates under the Iranian Minerals Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO) which is subordinate to IMIDRO.
