Secondary housing prices increase in Kazakhstan

The cost of one square meter of new housing in Kazakhstan amounted to 296,815 tenge (approximately $754) in February 2020, which is 7.2 percent more than in February 2019 and 1.3 percent more than in December 2019, Trend reports with reference to the data of the Committee of Statistics of Kazakhstan.

Cost of resale of ready housing equaled 205,413 tenge (approximately $521) per square meter, which is 7.6 percent more than in February 2019 and 1.9 percent more than in December 2019.

Furthermore, the cost of resale of housing without amenities stood at 127,733 tenge (approximately $324) per square meter in February 2020, which is 6.4 percent more than during the same month of 2019 and 1.4 percent more than in December 2019.

Rent of one square meter of comfortable housing increased by 6.3 percent compared to February 2019 having reached 1,537 tenge (approximately $3.9).

Over 28 years of independence, 141 million square meters of housing have been commissioned in Kazakhstan. Country is developing a unified model of housing development throughout the country, where the main principle is to increase the affordability of housing, especially for socially sensitive segments of the population.

In order to improve the living conditions of the population and create affordable opportunities, the introduction of new mortgage lending programs, which further increased the availability of housing mortgages, was initiated in the country.
