Trend:

Iran's Headquarters to Combat Smuggling of Goods and Foreign Currency is confronting websites that sell smuggled home appliances by blocking them, said the head of Home Appliance Sellers and Producers Union.

"Some websites were identified and blocked earlier this week, so they are no longer accessible. Online The websites that sell home appliances online should obtain permits and cargo's identification code; otherwise, they will be filtered," said Morteza Miri, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"Currently, there are many websites that supply home appliances with identification code; however, consumers should pay attention to the websites they use," the head of the union added.

"The advertisements of LG has been taken away, while Samsung's commercial ads are currently being displayed at the market," Miri said adding that Iranian companies are to substitute the two Korean brands in new Iranian year (begins March 21, 2020).

LG and Samsung companies operating in Iran's home appliance market have ended their work following the US sanctions.

Five major Iranian websites were filtered by the headquarters to Combat Smuggling of Goods and Foreign Currency due to lack of identification code of their products.

The headquarters has provided special application to customers to scan the identification code on the website and see the cargo's real identification.
