Azerbaijan's trade balance in foreign turnover up

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover made up $5 billion in January-February 2020, which is 5.2 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to monthly data from Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.

The export share in foreign trade turnover accounted for $3.1 billion to ensure annual increase in exports by 3.1 percent. The share of exports during the month decreased by 10.2 percent, however over the year increased by 5.2 percent, up to 64.5 percent of the foreign trade turnover volume.

Azerbaijan’s imports in 2019 amounted to nearly $1.8 million, which is 29.5 percent less compared to the same period last year. The share of imports in the total trade turnover decreased by 5.2 percent, up to 35.5 percent of the total volume.

The balance in foreign trade turnover grew by 1.5 times and remained positive, amounting to $1.4 billion.
