The volume of exports of fruits and nuts from Georgia in monetary terms amounted to $14.28 million from January through February 2020, Trend reports citing Georgian National Statistics Service (Geostat).
As reported, the share of fruits and nuts in Georgia’s total exports for the reported period amounted to 2.7 percent.
The main positions in the group were occupied by hazelnuts - $7.14 million, tangerines - $3.60 million, oranges - $710,000, bananas - $620,000, and apples - $580,000.
Compared to the same period last year, fruit exports increased by 30.6 percent.
The export of vegetables from Georgia from January through February 2020 amounted to $2.19 million. The share of vegetables in the total export of Georgia for the same period amounted to 0.4 percent.
The main positions in the group were occupied by eggplants - $250,000, tomatoes - $240,000, mushrooms of the Agaricus family - $240,000, and cucumbers - $170,000.
The volume of exports of vegetables from Georgia in comparison with the same period of 2019 decreased by 10.2 percent.
